20 May – 2 July 2017 | Gallery2
This exhibition of everyday crafts has been curated from the collections held at the Rural City of Wangaratta’s neighbouring Museums and Historical Societies.
During the pre-industrial era craft was performed out of the necessity to create domestic items that served a function. From jug covers to table cloths a selection of historic textiles will be on display.
“The makers of textile items often have interesting stories to tell. While milk jug covers can be seen as historical artefacts, they can reveal much about the makers and the conditions they lived I n when the items were made.”
