Darron Davies’ photography has a recognised meditative and still quality. Exhibited widely, and an established artist, Davies works across film and digital photography with an abiding interest in capturing beautiful and metaphoric images.
Darron Davies is based in Castlemaine. Darron has exhibited widely in recent years working between digital and film cameras, producing landscape work as well as studio based photography. He has been a Finalist in the Blake Prize in 2013, 2015 and 2016 . Darron’s photography has a meditative and reflective quality. Critics have use words such as ‘fragile’, ‘contemplative’ , ‘allegorical’ and ‘magical’ to describe his work. Darron believes that the best photographs are ‘breathed into existence’ – a term once coined by a reviewer in relation to his work – an attempt to find beauty and metaphor within even the most obscure of subject matter; finding a photograph where one may never have been found before:
