Wangaratta Art Gallery is calling for proposals for our Gallery 2 program for 2026-2027. Gallery 2 is considered a project space and can be used for exhibitions and creative making activities.

Successful applicants will receive an artist fee and will work in collaboration with the gallery team to realise their presentation across exhibition design, production and public programming. Gallery staff will provide curatorial support and advice to help shape the project from proposal to realisation.

There are several opportunities available for this space in the 2026 & 2027 program.

About the Space

The exhibition space is situated within a heritage building and has a number of distinctive features such as curved window cavities, a former stage area and a pressed tin ceiling. The total space is 117 square metres.

External walls are masonry fitted with a hanging track. There are three moveable walls which must remain within the space but can be configured to suit different presentation needs. Suspension options are minimal.

Please note that there is no climate control within the space. Heating is provided by gas heaters in the cooler months.
