Is life better with sprinkles and cherries on top?
Elizabeth Willing’s artworks are often made from sugar-based confectioneries and alcohol. In her artworks the artist asks us to think about how we consume sugar-based foods and drinks and how marketing and industrial innovation influences our eating and drinking habits.
This activity asks you to think about the sugar based foods and drinks you have every day. Are sugar-based foods and drinks an important part of your celebrations? Is a birthday party a ‘real party’ without a birthday cake, or in chef and cookbook author Julia Child’s words: a party without cake is just a meeting.
Is life indeed better with sprinkles and cherries on top and is it really true that there’s nothing a cupcake can’t solve?
