Inga will guide attendees through curatorial points of interest, delve deeper into the exhibitions development and explore the featured artists and their artworks.
Friday 21 August
This presentation will look at the history of Petite Miniature Textiles at Wangaratta Art Gallery, discuss some of the artworks in this year’s exhibition, explore the term miniature textiles and look at miniature works that are being exhibited globally. There will be a brief Q & A session and an opportunity to discuss the works shown and possibly provide inspiration for your own textile work.
Friday 4 September
This presentation takes its initial inspiration from what was to be our scheduled re-opening exhibition in Gallery 2 on August 15, Emma Hamilton: Photographic Tunnelling When thinking about data that informs artwork we revisited Dana Harris’ work Watertable that we have in our own Collection and the last artist who exhibited in Gallery2 before our first Covid-19 closure; Makers Hand: Tricia Flanagan whose practice and experimental textile works are informed by everyday data. This will be a slide presentation taking a brief and exciting look at various artists across the globe that are using data to inform their artworks. There will be a brief Q & A session and an opportunity to discuss the works shown and possibly provide inspiration for your own data driven arts project.
