Friday 7 Feb | 10am – 12 noon
with Senior Curator of Art, Australian War Memorial,
Posters were an ideal vehicle for propaganda – impermanent yet public, they were designed to be noticed and could be printed and distributed quickly and in large numbers. Join Alexandra Torrens, Curator of Hearts and Minds, on a gallery tour to learn about propaganda on the home front during the First and Second World Wars and the Memorial’s world-class collection of wartime posters.
Torrens has been employed in a curatorial capacity for more than 16 years. She joined the Art Section at the Australian War Memorial in 2009 and was recently promoted to Senior Curator of Art.
