WANGARATTA ART GALLERY – UPDATE – COVID 19 – JUNE 10, 2020
Wangaratta Art Gallery is delighted to announce that the gallery will re -open as from June 12th, 2020.
The Australian Government’s three step Roadmap to a COVID safe Australia identified that public galleries are able to re-open under Stage 2 guidelines. The Victorian Government has announced that galleries can re-open from 1 June, 2020. Re-opening of Wangaratta Art Gallery is being carefully managed to support the health and wellbeing of our visitors, staff, volunteers and the broader community whilst meeting physical distancing and hygiene guidelines.
At all times the Wangaratta Art Gallery will be guided by the Roadmap to a COVIDSafe Australia and the Victorian State Government directions and safety measures for our visitors have been put into place.
All gallery public programming and events will remain to be delivered through alternative online engagement, and gallery spaces will be opened in a staged delivery. Gallery 1 will be the first space to be opened, closely followed by Gallery 2 and eventually the WPACC Foyer Gallery. Gallery staff will be closely monitoring community feedback and adapting our service and visitor experience as deemed necessary.
Our normal business hours will presume for Gallery 1 access as of Friday June 12.
As part of re-opening measures, gallery staff will be requesting visitor contact details to assist with contact tracing in the event of a COVID-19 infection.
For larger groups beyond the maximum allowed number of 20 people, please be sure to contact the gallery and book in advance.
Stay safe and we can’t wait to welcome you back.
